MBA Admissions Requirements

Before you apply to the online MBA program, take a moment to review the admission requirements. Learn more about what you need to qualify for acceptance into this dynamic, tech-focused program.

To be eligible for NJIT’s online MBA program, applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate degree from a regional accrediting institution
  • Minimum 2.8 GPA
  • Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended (transcript evaluation for transcripts from international schools)
  • Official GMAT or GRE scores. Scores must be submitted (500 minimum GMAT expectation or GRE equivalent score) unless candidate already possesses an earned master’s or doctoral degree; candidates with a minimum GPA of 2.8 from a U.S.-based research institution may qualify for GMAT or GRE waiver
  • One letter of recommendation
  • Completed application and $65 application fee
  • TOEFL scores (if applicable). Score of 79 or higher or IELTS score of 6.5 or higher, and other NJIT International Student admission requirements

MSCE Admissions Requirements

Engineering the Admissions Process

Before you apply to the online MSCE program, take a moment to review the admission requirements. Learn more about what you need to qualify for acceptance into this dynamic, future-focused program.

To be eligible for this program, you must:

  • Submit the application for admission.
  • Pay the $75 nonrefundable application fee.
  • Provide official transcripts and proof of degree from all colleges and universities attended.
  • Send official GRE/TOEFL results. Please note: The GRE is required if you do not have an engineering background or if you have an engineering background, but a grade-point average lower than 2.8. All test results must be sent directly to the Office of Graduate Admission from the test administrator, Educational Testing Service (ETS), using code 2513.
  • Mail one letter of recommendation in a sealed envelope.
  • Submit a photocopy of your visa or permanent-resident card (for non-U.S. citizens residing in the United States only).

The Bridge Program is designed for students who do not have an undergraduate background in civil engineering. It allows them to make up deficiencies by taking a special program that is designed in consultation with the graduate advisor. These courses are not always available online; however, they must be taken in addition to the degree requirements. Please note that the prerequisites for bridge courses must also be met. Bridge requirements vary depending on a review of the applicant’s transcript.

Additional admission requirements:

  • The general GRE is required for all international students and applicants without an undergraduate engineering degree. The minimum score required is 1000 combined in the verbal and the quantitative sections, with a minimum of 650 in the quantitative part and a minimum of 2.0 in Analytical Writing Skills Test.
  • For the new GRE test, the minimum score required is 135 in the verbal section, a minimum of 151 in the quantitative part, and a minimum of 2.0 in Analytical Writing Skills Test.
