Bio:

Janice Daniel is an Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, New Jersey, where she teaches courses in traffic control and capacity analysis. Prior to joining NJIT, she worked as a transportation engineer at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and at the consultant firm of Philip Habib and Associates. Her research interests are in the areas of traffic operations and control and transportation safety.

Dr. Daniel has served as the principal investigator for several research projects funded by Federal Highways Administration, National Science Foundation, and state agencies, including the New Jersey Department of Transportation and the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety. She is a member of the Transportation Research Board Highway Capacity and Quality of Service Committee where she serves as the chair for the Urban Streets Subcommittee.
