Yuan Ding is an Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, New Jersey, where she teaches courses in fluid mechanics, water resources, and mechanics. Her current research interests include hydrologic modeling, optimization of urban drainage systems, and pneumatic fracturing. Her latest project involves field evaluation and regression of evapo-transpiration coefficients for New Jersey watersheds using MODFLOW, the USGS’s standard ground water modeling tool.

Dr. Ding has served as the principal investigator for research projects funded by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, the City of Newark, and the Passaic Valley Sewage Treatment Commission. She was recently given the Best Theoretically Published Article Award in the Practice Periodical of Hazardous and Toxic, and Radioactive Waste by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Environmental & Water Resources Institute (EWRI).
